Wow, Hazen Select did an excellent job at state.  All 3 teams competed hard and pulled out some huge wins.  Our 8th grade team went 2-2 for the weekend which is was an excellent job since there were club teams mixed in their bracket.  The 7th grade team also pulled out 2 huge wins in the end to go 2-2.  Our 6th grade team had an amazing weekend also.  They lost their first game and then went on to win 3 in a row to make the championship game for the second year in a row.  It was a close game but Hazen lost in the end.  I know all the player’s and parents were not happy with the results but I was extatic with how well we represented Hazen over the weekend.  All of our teams were in the top 10 of their divisions in the state which means we are going in the right direction.  Thankyou to all the friends and parents who came and supported the teams.  Also, to the coaches who traveled to Spokane to help their teams win.  Way to go Highlander’s!

I would like to give a shoutout to the Hazen Select 6th grade girls team.  They destroyed all their competitors this weekend to bring home the state championship.  The girls played hard and looked like a championship team all weekend.  Way to go Highlander’s.

If there is anyone who wants to play on a 7th grade spring team plaese email me now.  Ron Azcutea has volunteered to coach a team but this has to happen quickly before the Peak league fills up.  Ron’s email is azcuetar@msn.com, email him if you have any questions.

Finally, we are still planning our year end banquet so please get back to Amy Eng, scrapitup@gmail.com  about the details so we can make this a great day for the player’s.  Thanks  for a great season.  We can’t do all of this without your support.
